Matteo Wasescha

Matteo Wasescha is an actor born on June 19, 2000, in Bern, Switzerland, to an Italian mother and a Swiss father. Matteo’s passion for acting ignited at a young age. While playing roles in local theater productions, he always knew he wanted to be a professional actor. Alongside his education, Matteo pursued acting, and at fifteen, he competed in the International Presentation of Performers (IPOP) Talent Contest in Los Angeles, winning three awards. After completing business school with a major in real estate and serving six months in the military, Matteo moved to Los Angeles for good. He studied at the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory and other renowned acting schools in LA. He began landing roles, including in the horror thriller Ladybug and as a series regular in the comedy Hollywood Adjacent. In early 2024, he secured a supporting role in Lucca Mortis, starring Dustin Hoffman and Helen Hunt, which earned him SAG eligibility.
As an actor, I focus on my craft, exploring all aspects of both the creative and business sides of the industry. To stay creative, I also enjoy writing. For fun, I love being in nature, staying active, and spending time with friends and family. I’m always expanding my knowledge of health and longevity, which keeps me sharp both mentally and physically.
The U.S., especially Los Angeles, offers endless opportunities in the entertainment industry. I absolutely love the energy here—you can feel the energy of people chasing their dreams everywhere. Moving here felt like the natural next step to grow and test my skills in one of the most competitive industries.
One of my best memories is getting cast in Hollywood Adjacent. It was my first big gig and principal role in a production. Being flown out to a new city for filming and working on set for over a month was a dream come true. Despite long shoot days and night shoots, it never felt like work—it was pure enjoyment and passion. Knowing that my preparation was paying off and that I was bringing a character to life felt incredibly rewarding.
Santa Monica Beach and the pier were among the first places I visited in LA. I remember standing on the pier and feeling like I was in the right place. For the outfit, I love a classic look—black and white with timeless style. And really, is there anything better than Italian tailoring?
It’s a fantastic initiative. ITALIANY.US connects Italians across the U.S., highlighting our journeys, aspirations, and the Italian influences we bring with us. I’m excited to be part of something that celebrates our shared heritage and culture.
Representing Italian culture abroad is something I take seriously. To me, it means showing that tradition and modernity can coexist beautifully. My favorite way to celebrate Italian culture is by inviting friends over and cooking authentic Italian dishes my mother taught me. We have some vino and philosophize about life.
